Changing Your Photo’s Background? Here’s Why You Shouldn’t DIY!
A lot of people today have suddenly turned into photo editors, thanks to a lot of photo-editing software that can be freely downloaded from the internet. However if you are intelligent, you will know that a lot of factors go into editing a photo without it looking sloppy. Of course, you want to edit your photos so that they get admired; but what you may be unaware is that if you don’t know the right technique, you may be producing a tragedy (or a comedy). One of the most disastrous things an amateur would do is to change a background. If you are thinking of changing a photo background by yourself, here are 3 reasons why you shouldn’t:
- To avoid a mismatch: If you do not have the right alternative background picture with you, you are better off if you do not do the editing at all. Few things are as sad as a poorly considered alternative. If you are sure of a background, point no. 2 will tell you why that may be a bad idea.
- Imprecise editing: An object and background make a perfect match only when a number of conditions are met. These are technical considerations that must be made such as lighting, positioning, head-space, distance, gradient and a hoard of other such factors. Having a right background is not everything it will be of no use if you do not know how to make best use of it.
- Limited options with free-software: The free versions that you download give you limited features. You will be left wondering whether you should purchase the full version or not. Perhaps you wouldn’t want to do that because it is a waste of money if you are not into editing regularly.
Keeping in mind these three factors, you should perhaps ask a professional to get your backgrounds change. Just trust your photo with an expert, and relax as you watch it transform into a masterpiece!
